Bettina Blümner

 

Bettina was born in Düsseldorf, Germany. From 1999 until 2004, she studied film direction at Filmakademie Baden-Württemberg. For her project PRINZESSINNENBAD, she received a grant from Nipkow Programm. The film premiered at the 57th Berlin International Film Festival (Berlinale) and won the German Film Award in the category Best Documentary and Best Film in the category Perspektive Deutsches Kino at Berlinale in 2008. In 2013, her first fictional feature film SCHERBENPARK was released theatrically in Germany. It won Best Actress and Best Screenplay at Max Ophüls Festival in 2013, Goethe Institute’s Youth Award, People’s Choice Award and Critics’ Choice Award at Filmkunstfestival Mecklenburg-Vorpommern as well as Best Fictional Film at Bolzano Film Festival in 2014. So far Bettina directed two other feature length documentaries HALBMONDWAHRHEITEN and her project PARCOURS D’AMOUR in Paris and Berlin, which will be released to French theatres in june 2016. Bettina lives and creates in Berlin.
